This explains how Electric Car Help uses the personal information you provide when you ask for an EV valuation, request specialist help, submit a charger-stop review or contact us.

Who handles your information

Electric Car Help operates this website and handles enquiries sent through it. Contact us about your data at info@pluginpoint.co.uk.

What we collect

We may collect your name, email address, phone number and postcode, together with relevant vehicle or property details. For a valuation this can include registration, make, model, year, mileage, condition, battery information and when you may wish to sell. For buying, company-car, servicing, battery-check or charger-installation help, it can include the type of support you need, vehicle details, timing and any information you add. A charger-stop review can include the location, ratings, facilities, comments, a display name and your email address. Enquiry records include the page used. If you accept optional analytics, they may also include the referring website and campaign labels. We remove query strings from page addresses and retain only the referring website’s origin. Please do not include payment details, identity documents or sensitive personal information in a form.

Why we use it

We use your information to deal with your enquiry and contact you about the request. We rely on our legitimate interests in answering requests, maintaining service records and protecting the site, balanced against your rights. Optional marketing and analytics require your separate consent. If you separately choose to receive EV updates, we may also contact you with relevant guidance. You can opt out at any time.

Analytics and cookies

Optional analytics tools load only after you accept them. If configured, Google Analytics measures page visits, traffic sources, link clicks, completed enquiries and tool use. Microsoft Clarity can record interactions on public information pages. Form fields and enquiry confirmations are masked, and owner pages are excluded. These services may still process device and online identifiers, so we do not describe the data as anonymous. Advertising consent remains off. No analytics accounts are connected at this update.

Your cookie choice is stored for six months on this device. With consent, first-visit attribution is stored for the browser session. Necessary platform functions, including owner sign-in, may also use cookies. Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent access to guides, tools or enquiry forms. You can change your choice below; withdrawing consent stops future optional tracking and removes the analytics cookies we can access.

Who we may share it with

Website hosting and database services process information to operate this site. We will identify a proposed vehicle-valuation, purchasing, servicing, battery-health or charger-installation provider and ask your permission before sharing your enquiry with them. We do not currently promise a provider introduction or response time. We do not share your details with unrelated businesses for their own marketing.

If optional analytics services are connected, Google and Microsoft process measurement data under their service terms. Their processing may involve countries outside the UK. See Google’s privacy notice and Microsoft’s privacy statement for their processing and safeguards.

Charger-stop reviews

Reviews are held for moderation. Public community ratings are not currently available. If approved, we may publish the stop, ratings, facilities, comment and the display name you provide. We do not publish your email address. We may contact you to check a review or investigate a report.

How long we keep it

Our retention policy is to review enquiry records and remove them when no longer needed, normally within 12 months of the last contact. We may keep limited information for longer where required for legal, regulatory or record-keeping purposes.

Your choices and rights

You may ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to certain uses or withdraw marketing consent. Contact us at info@pluginpoint.co.uk. Rights depend on the circumstances and the reason for processing. You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information submitted through this website and limit access to people who need it to deal with your request.
